MedCount Privacy Policy

MedCount is an iOS app that helps you track medication inventory and optional refill reminders. This Privacy Policy explains what data MedCount collects, how it’s used, and your choices. It is designed to meet Apple App Store requirements.
Data We Collect
MedCount is designed to minimize data collection. By default, MedCount stores all data locally on your device.
Data you enter
- Medication names, inventory counts, refill thresholds, refill quantities
- Notes you add to medications
- App preferences (theme, notification settings)
Health data (optional)
- If you choose to connect Apple Health, MedCount can read:
- Medication dose events you’ve logged
- Your Health medication list you allow access to
- MedCount does not write any medication data back to Apple Health.
Diagnostic data (optional, local)
- App and permission status details used to troubleshoot issues
- These are visible in-app and are not transmitted unless you choose to copy or email them.
How We Use Data
MedCount uses your data solely to:
- Show current inventory and refill status
- Sync taken doses from Apple Health (if enabled)
- Provide refill notifications you configure
- Support import/export of your data
MedCount does not use your data for advertising or profiling.
Data Storage and Sharing
- All data is stored locally on your device.
- MedCount does not sell, share, or transmit your data to third parties.
- Optional iCloud sync (if enabled) is used only to keep your data in sync across your own devices and is governed by Apple’s iCloud terms.
Notifications
MedCount sends local notifications for refill reminders if you enable them. These notifications are generated on your device and are not sent to external servers.
Your Choices
You can:
- Use MedCount without enabling Apple Health
- Choose which medications to link (or unlink at any time)
- Enable/disable notifications per medication
- Export or delete your data at any time
- Reset the app to remove all data
Children’s Privacy
MedCount is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Security
MedCount uses Apple’s standard iOS storage and permission systems. No external servers are used for storage.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes, we will update this page and the effective date.
